Held by the land
A coastal wellness sanctuary held by Maunga Karioi.
Held by Maunga Karioi, wrapped in ten acres of regenerating native bush, and set before sweeping views of the Tasman Sea — Solscape welcomes you to our coastal wellness sanctuary.
Sauna and cold plunge, yoga and movement, wholesome meals and good coffee, surfboard hire and bush walks — there’s a little something here for everyone looking to come back to themselves.
Solscape is a ten-acre eco accommodation, wellness and retreat property at 611 Wainui Road, Raglan, on the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island — hand-built earth domes and restored railway cabooses set among permaculture gardens, at the foot of Mt Karioi and a short walk from the coast.
Our intention
To give what the land has given us
Our intention for this place lives in the land — to give people what it has given us. A place of connection, nourishment, sustainability and support. A place that guides you back to truth, and holds you long enough to come home to yourself.
The buildings
Earth, timber and recycled rail
The accommodation is part of the story. Earth domes hand-built from the ground beneath them. Railway cabooses and a 1950s Overlander train rescued and restored into places to sleep.
Nothing here is off a plan. Each structure has its own character, its own history and its own way of catching the morning light — a reminder that beautiful places to stay don’t have to cost the earth.
Where we’re going
Giving ourselves space to grow
Solscape is always transforming — it’s our amazing team, our guests, and the community that allow for that to happen. Through all of the additions, transitions, and ebbs and flows, the land and the ethic stay the same.
