Surfing Raglan is on every surfer's bucket list — and the waves are just down the hill from Solscape.

Every quality surf destination around the world has locals who struggle with visiting surfers. Raglan is no different, and it's important to us at Solscape that the visiting surfers we host understand and abide by local rules and etiquette.

While enjoying the waves that peel along our shores, please show the utmost respect to the local environment, the local culture and the local community at all times.

The Breaks

Ngarunui Beach

All levels

A long, flat, sand-bottomed beach providing waves every day. The perfect environment for all our lessons and fun for all levels.

Manu Bay

Advanced–Expert

A rocky point break famous for its long peeling left. A local break — please abide by the surfing etiquette and respect the community. You must be at advanced-intermediate or expert level with full control of your board at all times.

Whale Bay

Advanced · Locals

One of Raglan's three connected point breaks — a long, mellow left that links toward Manu Bay. A local favourite that draws a crowd, so know the lineup and surf with respect.

Indicators (Indies)

Expert · Locals

The top of Raglan's celebrated point system — a long, fast left that "indicates" the incoming swell. A serious, advanced wave; know your ability and respect those who surf here.

Outsides

Expert · Locals

Sitting along the point below Indicators, Outsides links into one of the longest left-hand rides in the world. For experienced surfers only, with respect for the local lineup.

Boneyards

Expert · Locals

A shallow break over rock that demands real experience and respect. Not a wave for beginners — watch, learn the lineup, and give way to the locals.
